Following on from my first introduction to Sitecore.Boost post, I have made some further improvements.
Before delving into the results of the announcement, Sitecore.Boost patches will also work for Sitecore pre 8.1 π
You can find the project here: https://github.com/cardinal252/Sitecore.Boost
The results
A small update has been released for Sitecore.Boost. This update results in the following:
- An approximate 61% improvement in rendering performance over Sitecore 8.1 OOTB
- An approximate 84% improvement in rendering performance over Sitecore 8.2 OOTB
Using all boost patches on both 8.1 and 8.2, this results in Sitecore 8.1 being 67% faster than Sitecore 8.2. Sitecore 8.1 is still slower than its predecessors, so the trend continues – at least this takes it some of the way back π
Happy boosting π π
Very cool plugin. I’ve tested this on Sitecore 8.2, and the changes to just the analytics and personalization aspects of the MVC Rendering pipeline produced huge bonuses. As of the current release (Feb 2017) there’s an issue with Light Renderings – they interfere with the way the Experience Editor draws its buttons – I suspect the Boost Cache Keys are too aggressive and need to be a bit more specific. You can replicate this by installing boost on a stock 8.2 install, entering Experience Editor and looking at the Home tab. You’ll find the button icons and text are not correct.
Great! π Could you raise a ticket on github for this and I will get on it soon π
Cheers
Following on from your feedback. I have issued a new release. If you get any time to test it – that would be awesome.
Thanks for your support!!
